Manvel is one of the fastest growing cities in Brazoria County. Manvel is located 20 miles due south of downtown Houston at the intersection of State Highway 288 and State Highway 6. Because of the excellent location, proximity to Hobby Airport and the rail line, the Manvel Economic Development Corporation is committed to supporting residential and commercial growth.
The Manvel Economic Development Corporation's (MEDC) Board of Directors represents key decision-makers in our community and come from a cross-section of industries. The Manvel City Council adopted Resolution 2000-R-01, authorizing the creation of the Manvel Economic Development Corporation on January 19, 2000. The current board consists of a chairperson and six directors. Meetings are open to the public and are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month, 7:00 P.M. at the Manvel City Hall.
